Board of Directors

SLINT-Uganda has an eight-member Board of Directors. The members have varied professional backgrounds and work experience in the fields of: environment, natural resource management, agriculture, rural development and sustainable development at both national and international levels. The current members are:


ACTING CHAIRPERSON
Kiggundu (15K)
Dr. Lukman Mulumba
Dr. Mulumba is a Lecturer in Soil and Water Management in the Faculty of Agricuture at Makerere University Kampala, Uganda. He has a PhD in Earth Science and Natural Resource Economics from Ohio State University, USA; an MSc. in Land and Water Management from University of Nairobi and a BSc. in Agriculture from Makerere University Kampala. He is also as a part time Lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture, Makerere University.
Dr. Mulumba previously worked as an Agricultural Officer with the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries and with the Action Aid-Uganda's Farmer Participatory Research Project. His expertise includes: soil and water conservation, irrigation and drainage technology, soil hydrology, watershed management and farmer participatory research.

Mr. Denis M. Kabuuka
Mr. Kabuuka holds a Bachelor of Adult and Community Education (Hons) from Makerere University Kampala (2000). He has worked as an Assistant Registrar with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), as a Programme Officer with an NGO called Adult Community Education and Development (ACED) and as a Programme Coordinator (Capacity Building) for HelpAge International-funded Old People's Projects in Uganda.
His areas of expertise include: adult education and training of trainers, change management, participatory appraisal and project planning and management.

Mrs. Victoria Tibenda
Mrs. Tibenda is a Research Officer at the Aquaculture Research & Development Centre, in Kajjansi, Kampala, Uganda. She is currently also a part-time Lecturer at the Faculty of Science, Bugema University. She previously worked with the local government in Mpigi as a Fisheries Extension Officer.
Mrs. Tibenda holds an MSc. in Fisheries and Aquaculture, a BSc. in Botany and Zoology and Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from Makerere University. Her areas of expertise include: aquaculture (fish farming), zoology and botany.
TREASURER
Kiggundu (15K)
Mr. Frank Kiggundu
Mr. Kiggundu is the Treasurer of the Uganda Union of Seventh-day Adventists. He holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Solusi University, Zimbabwe and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University Kampala.
Mr. Kiggundu has more than 25 years of work experience. His areas of expertise include: financial management and organizational administration.

Mrs. Edith Bazanye
Mrs. Bazanye is a former Human Resource Development Officer at World Vision Uganda. She has a Masters degree in Management Studies from the Uganda Management Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree (Chemistry and Biochemistry) from Makerere University Kampala. Mrs Bazanye worked with World Vision Uganda for 14 years from 1994. Her main area of expertise is human resource management.

Mrs. Margaret Lwanga
Mrs. Lwanga is an Environment Specialist with the LGMSD Programme & DDP III Project in the Ministry of Local Government in Uganda. She has more than 20 years of work experience. She formerly worked with the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and with the National Wetlands Programme in the Ministry of Lands Water and Environment.
Mrs. Lwanga holds a Masters in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Science from Makerere University Kampala. Her areas of expertise include: policy analysis, programme management, gender and environment, public participation and wetlands management.
